David Fumanelli continues his podium tradition at the 24-hour Spa.
After the great second place of 2018, even in 2019 David confirmed himself on the greatest podium of the year with a third place in class with his teammates Nielsen, Hedistand and Hawskworth on board the Mercedes AMG GT3 number 43.
An all time record edition of the classic Belgian race, with 72 cars at the start, but also among the most difficult of the last few years, with the rain that never left the race track during the race, bringing to a 5 hours suspension due to the poor track condition.
David took charge of the start and recovered from the fourth to the first position in class in the first 2 hours, challenging himself in a beautiful duel with former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella.
The constant treacherous conditions required a lot of sensibility from the drivers, especially during the night driving. In fact, many accidents and safety cars came out during the race.
Thanks to an excellent strategy, the Strakka Racing # 43 crew managed to overtake the Porsche in 3rd position, grabbing the podium just in the final minutes.
A result that David wanted to dedicate entirely to his mother who died prematurely a few weeks earlier.
