Unlucky retiriment at Silverstone ///

 30.06.2017

A very unlucky weekend in the second round of the Blancpain GT Endurance Series, on the legendary Silverstone circuit, home race both for Strakka Racing and Mclaren.
Due to a gearbox issue happened in qualifying, David and McLaren number 44 crew qualified only 43rd on the grid.

But at the start of the race, after only 45 minutes, car 44 was already up to 21st place, and thanks to a safety car, close again to the leaders.

But at the restart, an unlucky contact with a lapped amateur car caused a big crash and the consequent retirement. Unfortunately David didn’t have the chance to complete his driving stint.

Next race on the 23rd-24th of June for the 1000kms of Paul Ricard.
We are very disappointed ... It was our home race and we were doing a great job. Despite the problems in qualifying, the race was going well after the first stint and a top-10 result was achievable. We'll be back soon.
